Maria Lawlor joined PFM in January 2006 and has 28 years of investment and financial management experience.  Ms. Lawlor is responsible for the administration of PFM Asset Managment LLC investment advisory and treasury management services throughout the Midwest.  With extensive experience across a broad range of investment options she current provides investment advisory services for operating funds, bond funds, pension, OPEB, endowments, and foundations, for a variety of PFM clients, including colleges and universities, school districts, cities, counties, authorities, hospitals, airports, and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to joining PFM, Maria was Vice President of U.S. Bank, Government Banking Division, providing Investment and Treasury Management services to a broad range of public sector clients as well as the Missouri Securities Investment Program (MOSIP).  She served as Head of Corporate Cash Management for Allied Irish Bank (AIB) to prepare, convert and roll out the Euro in 2002 to all Corporate clients across Ireland followed by implementing and rolling out iBusiness Banking, providing internet cash management services to all Corporate clients in Ireland and England.  Maria also spent 15 years with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) where she was involved in two start-up organizations for CIBC as Business Development Executive for Client Relationship and Development.  She was instrumental in growing CIBC Wood Gundy Ireland Inc., a Corporate and Investment Banking arm of CIBC World Markets Inc. providing investment products and large syndicated transactions to clients.  She also helped implement the first virtual bank in Canada, building and presenting new cost saving strategies for bank clients, achieving $3.4 million in savings, and providing ideas for three new products to provide an additional $1 million in savings annual.  Ms. Lawlor attended York University, and holds a Series 6 and 63 designation from FINRA.

William T. Sullivan, Jr.

In February 2004, William Sullivan joined PFM Asset Management LLC as a Managing Director. Mr. Sullivan is responsible for developing and managing investments for 3 states including Missouri and has overall responsibility for the St. Louis office. Prior to joining PFM, Mr. Sullivan was Chairman and CEO of Cadre Financial Services, Inc., and its registered brokerage affiliate, Cadre Securities, Inc. For more than 30 years, Mr. Sullivan has been involved in the area of cash flow management and the investment of both operating and surplus funds.

Mr. Sullivan is a nationwide speaker on the U.S. Banking system and cash management technologies. Prior to establishing Cadre in 1982, Mr. Sullivan was responsible for E.F.Hutton's banking relations and cash flow management in excess of $2 billion per day. He has served as consultant to the investment committee of the State of West Virginia, the Arizona State Retirement System, the Arkansas Legislative Auditors, Alitalia Airlines -North America, and National Securities Clearing Corporation.

Mr. Sullivan holds Series 6, 26, 63, and 65 licenses.



Mary Dix

Mary Dix joined PFM Asset Management LLC in 2014 and currently serves as an analyst in the Midwest Asset Management Practice in the St. Louis, Missouri, office.

Ms. Dix’s primary role provides technical, analytical and marketing support for municipal governments, school districts and other public entities. Her responsibilities include cash flow analysis, portfolio structuring, investment performance analysis and investment policy development.

Ms. Dix received her Bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and holds a Series 6 and 63 designation from FINRA.

Mike Varano joined PFM Asset Management LLC in 1985 and is involved in portfolio Investment Management. He is responsible for the trading and management of fixed income portfolios for 16 local government investment pools across the country totaling over $9.9 billion.

Robert Cheddar joined PFM Asset Management LLC in 2004 as a Senior Portfolio Manager, Mr. Cheddar manages PFM client accounts across the country. Mr. Cheddar is also responsible for corporate bond and commercial paper research, recently assuming the title of Chief Credit Officer. Prior to joining PFM, Mr. Cheddar was a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager for the Wilmington Trust Corp.

Danny Nelson joined PFM Asset Management LLC as a Consultant immediately following his graduation from Yale University in 2002. Mr. Nelson works mainly with PFM’s Midwest practice, and his present role consists of providing technical, analytical, and marketing support for clients primarily based in the Midwest.

Mr. Michael Steinbrook joined PFM Asset Management LLC in 2004 as a Consultant in the Arbitrage Rebate Practice in the Harrisburg office. Mr. Steinbrook’s primary duties include performing a variety of arbitrage rebate compliance related analyses. Mr. Steinbrook is responsible for tracking arbitrage rebate compliance for PFM’s Texas and Mid-West investment pools, and assists issuers in the development and implementation of investment strategies for tax-exempt bond proceeds that enable issuers to maximize retainable earnings.

Amber Cannegieter

Amber Cannegieter joined PFM in 2013 as a Key Account Manager for PFM’s Client Service Group. As a Key Account Manager, Amber’s primary responsibility is to provide customer service in everyday functions such as onboarding and new client administration. She also serves as a client advocate by providing a “high touch, high value” experience, to address client needs  

Prior to PFM, Ms. Cannegieter most recently worked for Turner Investments, L.P. as a Director of Strategic Relationships within their Private Wealth Group. Amber was responsible for building relationships with key decision makers among wealth management firms to generate, pursue, and win business opportunities. Additionally, Amber met with current and prospective clients to introduce investment products and to review investment performance. Prior to her six years at Turner, Amber served as a Client Relationship Associate for the Vanguard Group. 

Amber has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Pennsylvania State University and is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) registered representative holding Series 6, 7 and 63 licenses.
